Mesa, Arizona (November 27, 2023) — SOLARCYCLE® is pleased to announce that its Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, Dr. Pablo Dias, was named to Business Insider’s 30 top global leaders working on climate solutions in 2023.

He was awarded the honor for his research and work to build the solar recycling technology able to reclaim more than 95% of all the valuable materials in solar panels, including aluminum, glass, copper, silver, and silicon

The outlet’s Climate Action 30 list highlights 30 global leaders working toward climate solutions. The list, in its second year, includes a variety of winners, including influencers, academics, scientists, and business executives, who are all working to address the climate crisis.

Pablo was selected through recommendations from readers and a group of sustainability and climate experts that are convened by Business Insider to offer industry insights and guidance on climate-action progress.

Pablo is a world-renowned researcher in the field of solar PV module and e-waste recycling technologies, conducting leading-edge research in innovative processes and methodologies for high-value, low-cost PV recycling. He has authored numerous seminal research papers in the field, holds multiple patents in photovoltaic recycling, and has authored several book chapters on the topic.

Before SOLARCYCLE, he was a researcher and lecturer at University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia. Pablo holds a PhD from UFRGS (Brazil), a PhD from Macquarie University (Australia) both in the field of e-waste recycling and management, and a Master of Science in photovoltaics recycling. At SOLARCYCLE, Pablo leads all technology, research, and design and was awarded a Department of Energy $1.5M research grant to study the process for recovering higher-quality metals and materials extracted from retired solar panels.

Most recently, Pablo co-authored a groundbreaking new study on how to reduce carbon emission intensity from the solar industry by 85% through circular practices.
