MESA, AZ — January 15, 2025 — SOLARCYCLE, an advanced technology-based solar recycling company, has been named to the 2025 Global Cleantech 100, an annual report from market research firm Cleantech Group that showcases the most promising cleantech companies in sustainable innovation. SOLARCYCLE was named for its leadership and innovation in advanced solar panel recycling.
“We’re happy to be included in the list of global leaders shaping the cleantech industry,” said Suvi Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder of SOLARCYCLE. “Experts believe that the world will soon see hundreds of millions of solar panels reaching the end of their life every year. This creates a massive opportunity to recapture those critical minerals and efficiently and profitably return them to the solar supply chain. We appreciate the recognition as we work to close the loop for the solar and we applaud the other leaders named who are similarly pushing the envelope.”
SOLARCYCLE's advanced, high-recovery proprietary recycling process extracts up to 95% of the value in a panel, including aluminum, silver, silicon, and glass. The company has long-term partnerships with more than 80 of the world’s largest energy companies to recycle and recover value from retired solar panels.
2024 was a landmark year for SOLARCYCLE. The company recycled nearly 500,000 solar panels from its customers and is on track to recycle more than 1 million panels in 2025. Advancing its circularity mission, SOLARCYCLE also announced the first crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar glass factory in the US. The facility can produce up to 5 gigawatts (GW) of solar glass and will be the first in the world to use recycled glass cullet to create new solar glass. In 2024, the company inked glass purchase agreements with leading manufacturers Heliene, and Runergy, among others, and added key investors including Microsoft to its bench of supporters.
Now the industry is poised for pivotal milestones in 2025 as market forces intensify and innovation accelerates. Groundbreaking first-of-a-kind projects and the surging demand for climate adaptation technologies emphasize the importance of product and project economics. The 2025 Global Cleantech 100 features companies, like SOLARCYCLE, that are best positioned to succeed for their ability to capitalize on organic demand—such as the growing need for end-of-life solar services—and their proven technological capability in real-world environments.
"2025 will be remembered as a transformative year for cleantech. The bar has gone up for what kind of level of potential novelty, uniqueness, and cost improvements might be attractive," said Richard Youngman, CEO of Cleantech Group. "The Global Cleantech 100 highlights innovators who are building the foundation for a sustainable and economically viable future."
