SOLARCYCLE Welcomes Ben Buckley as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer

2/13/2025

Mesa, Arizona (Feb 12, 2025) – SOLARCYCLE®, a technology-based solar recycling company, today announced the appointment of Ben Buckley as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. Buckley will oversee the company’s Legal and Human Resources functions, succeeding Ted Herhold, who is retiring at the end of the month after playing a foundational role in SOLARCYCLE’s growth.

“Ben’s extensive leadership experience in legal, HR, and compliance, combined with his strong business acumen, will help us build a world-class team and legal framework to support SOLARCYCLE’s continued expansion,” said Suvi Sharma, Co-Founder and CEO at SOLARCYCLE. “We are incredibly grateful to Ted for his invaluable contributions since the company’s inception and wish him the best in his well-earned retirement.”

Buckley joins SOLARCYCLE with over 25 years of experience, most recently serving as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at Mott Corporation, a global leader in advanced filtration solutions. Prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles at Rogers Corporation (NYSE: ROG), including SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Divisional General Counsel.

A former professional cyclist, Buckley also has entrepreneurial experience, having founded and managed a global custom sportswear business with manufacturing operations in Poland and China. Originally from Connecticut, he holds a BA and JD from the University of Connecticut.

Buckley’s appointment marks continued growth for SOLARCYCLE. Last year SOLARCYCLE recycled nearly 500,000 solar panels and is on track to recycle more than 1 million panels in 2025. In 2024, the company also announced its third recycling facility and a 5 gigawatt (GW) crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar glass factory to create its Circular Solar Campus in Cedartown Georgia. There, it will be the first in the world to use recycled glass cullet to create new solar glass. The company has recycling partnerships with more than 80 leading clean energy companies, including Sunrun, AES, EDF, and Orsted, among others, and is backed by key investors including Microsoft, Prologis Ventures, and Fifth Wall.
